About CEREC One-Visit Crowns
If you have a tooth that is cracked, broken, decayed, or worn, Dr. Dowell and her Norman dental team can help you restore it in one visit with a custom-made porcelain crown, inlay, or onlay milled by our CEREC machine. In the past, it took at least two visits to complete a crown, inlay, or onlay procedure, but with a revolutionary tool like CEREC, we’re able to shorten your treatment time to just a single visit.
How Does An Appointment with CEREC Work?
If you need a crown, inlay, or onlay, here’s what you can expect from your appointment with us:
First, Dr. Dowell will start by examining your smile and gathering specific information about the tooth we’ll be restoring. As part of that process, we’ll talk to you about what you expect from your restoration, in addition to taking detailed, 3D images of your tooth. Then, with this information, we can design your restoration so that it will be shaped and shaded just right to match the rest of your smile.
Afterwards, all that information we have put together will be downloaded to our CEREC machine, which will mill your custom-made crown, inlay, or onlay. At this point in your appointment, all you have to do is relax and wait for it to finish.
Once your restoration is all done, all that’s left is for Dr. Dowell to put your crown, inlay, and onlay in place and double-check to see that it looks and fits exactly the way it’s supposed to. That’s all there is to it! When your restoration is completed, you can leave our office secure in the fact that you’ve received exactly the restorative care you needed, and in just one appointment. There’s no need for a second appointment at all.
